3. Problem:
I rented from Seykora Properties owned by Adrian and Philomena Seykora from May or June of 2007 - July of 2010. The building is duplex, and our unit was 2 floors, a basement level and main floor. The complaints I have are in regards to the Seykora's

- Not honoring parts of the lease, such as refusing me compensation for cleaning up a water leak that was unsafe,

- Unlawful inclusions and omissions in the lease such as omitting a clause in the lease required by Minnesota state law that informs the tenant of his/her right to request a copy of the utility bill for single metered dwellings

- Unlawful late fee stipulations in the lease- that are designed to penalize the tenant which is in violation of Minnesota Landlord Tenant Law

-Gross violations of my privacy by displaying a written note outside their home and daycare business with confidential information: our names and when we paid our rent (we were one hour late)

- Refusing to provide copies of the electric bill, it took them over two months and a call to the Attorney Generals Office before they finally provided it to me, and Philomena ascertains she has a right to place stipulations before providing a copy of the utility bill and that she is entitled to decide whether or not the information is necessary for the tenant. The Landlord Tenant Law simply states they are to provide a copy upon request and does not require the tenant to provide any explanation. Philomena also altered the bill once she finally provided it so the information on it was incorrect.

I am not seeking monetary compensation at this time. I simply wish to have a permanent record of these incidents on file with the Better Business Bureau. I am also submitting and requesting the same with the Attorney General's Office.

Respectfully Submitted Ann M Schmidt
